Student Soirees
Next Soiree Date: March 13, 2010
Twice a year, the Student Soiree presents Intermediate and Advanced students who wish to perform solo. It could be a Bellydance or a Folklore. Often, this event offers the chance for students to be experimental and express themselves creatively with non tradtitional music choices and/or a fusion of dance styles. Basically, the Student Soiree is an opportunity for students to strut their own personal style or challenge themselves in a solo performance. The dance can be improvised or choreographed by themselves or with the help of a teacher. Arabesque students are also welcome to perform a group choreography they have learned in class by themselves in solo format as a chance to gain some stage experience. As well, Advanced students may want to present their own choreography in a duet or trio. About a month or two before the event, sign up sheets are posted for anyone to sign themselves up with a limit of 15 dancers for each event.
