Richard Feren has been creating original music and sound scores for Canadian theatre since 1992. He is the resident composer for acclaimed company da da kamera, winning a 1995 Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Sound & Music. He is the recipient of the 1999 Pauline McGibbon Award, and his score for Modern Times Aurash won a 1999 Dora Mavor Moore Award. Richard first collaborated with Yasmina Ramzy on the 1994 production of Das Rheingold by Platform 9/Xcess of This. In 1998 he completed the ten-piece suite Dance of the Seven Veils for Arabesque Dance Company's Descent of Ishtar, and is now collaborating with Dr. George Sawa for the new Arabesque production of Isis.
